This series of life sized prints explores the forgotten lives of the Jacket women at the Workhouse, through a marriage of collage, monoprinting and drypoint. Each piece is created using light Japanese mulberry paper and discarded sewing pattern, chosen for their inherent fragility and tactile qualities that mirror the vulnerability and resilience of these women’s experiences. Works are hung suspended in a gallery space , to create movement inviting viewers to consider not just what they see but what they feel.

The models for these pieces are all women who have experienced being single parents.
